I want to add memories from 3 generations of my family. My dad is now too old and infirm to attend matches, but he still talks about a first division match he attended at Blundell Park in 1946 against Wolves. Although the match was a 0-0 draw it was significant because he met his future wife (my Mum) for the first time at that match!
My special memory goes back to November 1965 when Blundell Park was packed for the visit of West Ham United. Grimsby outplayed their first division opponents containing Moore, Hurst and Peters who 6 months later were world cup winners. The game finished 2-2 but was a fantastic game of football.
My sons favourite memory is from his first trip to Blundell Park in 1995 when we beat Luton 5-0 with Tommy Watson scoring twice. The following year we scored 7 against Luton in the FA Cup and he wished we could play them every week!
