2010 Conference Playoff Semi-final v Luton. Having attended each of the fiercely contested York v Luton games during the conference era, there is one which clearly stands out - not the hostile 2nd leg tie, but rather the 1st leg of the 2010 playoff semi-final held at Bootham Crescent. The game was a tight affair with few chances at either end - and this was despite the fact that Luton were down to 9 men by the end. The game was approaching the full time whistle and with the crowd starting to turn on the team, Richard Brodie latched onto a long ball and slotted home to give us a 1-nil lead. The 2nd leg may be the more infamous game but watching Brodie celebrate at the Longhurst end was a memory to cherish! And it gave us the crucial lead we needed.
