So many memories to choose from:
May 1972. Being just 12 years old, I arrived at the game v Exeter and took my place by 6:30pm, over an hour before kick off. To see over 22,000 people in Blundell Park still makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. The noise, the smell, the camaraderie (on & off the pitch) made Grimsby the centre of my universe.
A second memory? Grimsby Town at Wembley? Never! Not in my life time? Seeing my home town decamp to North West London, I had visited Wembley many times but never did I expect Grimsby Town to play there. Over 25,000 in black and white. Magic Moments.
Chris Parker
In 1998 Town went to Wembley twice, beating Bournemouth in the Auto Windscreens Shield Final and Northampton Town in the Division Two Play-off Final.
This memory was shared at an evening with Graham Taylor, former Grimsby Town player who went on to manage clubs including Watford & Aston Villa before becoming manager of England.
