In November 1948 top-of-the-table Rotherham United arrived at Bootham Crescent with star forward Wally Ardron and high expectations, having won 15 out of 17. Instead it was City forward Alf Patrick who ran riot in front of the 19,000 crowd, scoring 5 goals in a 6-1 win. I've seen other magnificent performances, including at Wembley, Old Trafford and Anfield, but this was probably the highlight of well over 60 years of following City.
