My first NUFC Match
Blackpool in 1961, aged 6. I was in the old Popular Side and Newcastle won 4-3. Stan Matthews was getting stick from the crowd who were shouting “give up Stan, you’re too old”. He went on to play for another five years. Newcastle were relegated at the end of the season.
