The day I met ...
It's a strange one, but a stand out memory was the first time I went on the MCFC tour at The Etihad.
That first time I didn't meet any ex-players or see any current player, nor any of the coaching staff - it was someone who was also on the tour.
I hadn't realised who it was, and that tour could have gone on for hours and hours and I would have been none the wiser; it was the tour guide who pointed him out.
Bert Trautmann's grandson. He was in his early 20s and had come along with his fiance.
After the tour, I walked up to him, and said "I know you didn't have any say in the matter as to who you are, but I would be honoured to shake the hand of the grandson of the great Bert Trautmann".
He gracefully obliged, and we spoke for a few minutes and then went our separate ways. That was a good day.
