The first time I saw Ryan Wilson (Giggs) was when he was around 13 years old. I was training at The Cliff with the juniors and Ryan was in the Centre of Excellence group training before us. We were stood in the gym, waiting for them to finish, when the youth team manager Eric Harrison came over and prompted us to 'watch this lad as he will be some player.' I can recall he was only a thin, spindly little thing, but was mature for his age and had a great left peg. It didn't really mean much to me at the time, to be honest, as I was only a young lad myself, but Eric certainly wasn't wrong was he!
