Every year my family held a fireworks night BBQ. We all grew up supporting Southend United (although some of us also supported a Premiership Team!), and they had drawn MUFC at home in the Carling Cup 4th round the following week. Never one to back down, my mum bet my two Southend Fanatic friends that they would lose to Manchester United - Sunday Lunch being the stakes.
The game had already sold out, so we gathered around the TV praying for a giant killing. Sure enough Freddie Eastwood broke the deadlock and sent Manchester United crashing out of the 4th round. I drove up to the pub where my friends would go after the game to celebrate.
Sure enough, my friends earned themselves Sunday lunch courtesy of my mum!
