My first game was the last day of the 1965/66 and Leeds United came to St James Park. I was probably 12 at the time and Leeds were one of the big sides in the country. The game is probably most famous for a unfortunate incident that saw United player Ron Guthrie break his leg. I remember this because Ron owned the papershop in Westmoor where I lived and he sold me my first tab (was either No6 or Woodbine) and a match for 6d.
The match itself was just a complete blur and seems to fly past but we won 2-0 and I remember the noise when Pop Robson and Alan Suddick scored. It was to be the first of many visits to St James Park.

Newcastle United Foundation have a heritage project for fans of all ages called Toon Times.
Toon Times will culminate with a major Newcastle United exhibition at the Discovery Museum, Newcastle, although in the lead up to this event Toon Times wishes to reach out to all Newcastle United fans across the North East and further afield to get involved and share their memories, experiences, photos and memorabilia what people have collected over the years.
