Steve Stone: 2010, Newcastle United 5 Sunderland 1, St. James' being " a tough, tough place to go"

Memories of the club

My playing days were always against Newcastle and it was one where I never played for them. So I always found you used to come up and get beaten quite a lot. I mean, I used to come with Portsmouth, Nottingham F orest. They used to always have such good teams that it was very difficult to even just get a point so it was always a tough, tough place to go but it was somewhere I would have loved to have come and played as a footballer because you understood that the fans and the appreciation that they give to the team and the amount of noise they give to the team, it’s something you don’t get at other clubs, believe you me you don’t get it, and that’s something special you’ve got to behold

Best Memory

Probably the 5-1 victory against Sunderland is something that will always stand in my memory and I’m a fan of Newcastle so that’s one that’ll always stand there.
