Daniel White: 1994, my first match - Kevin Scott's last

I'm a life long NUFC Fan and my greatest memory has to be, like most fans, the very first game. A cold Jan afternoon and we welcomed Coventry City to St James in the 3rd round of the FA cup. I walked up the steps to the Gallowgate and I was greeted with thousands of Fellow Geordies standing and clambering to get a good view as the Toon Army took to the Pitch.

The atmosphere was tremendous, the stadium like a church and the fans like no other. I didn't really see much of the game as I really could not see over the sea of black and white but I did managed to catch my first ever goal. The Gallowgate started to bounce, the noise was deafening and a moment I will next forget. We Ran out 2-0 winners that day.

Kevin Scott said Farewell as he was set to Join spurs and Cole and Beardsley scored the goals. I also remember when Micky Quinn came off the bench for Coventry and was given a hero's welcome back until he touched the ball.

Newcastle United Foundation have a heritage project for fans of all ages called Toon Times.

Toon Times will culminate with a major Newcastle United exhibition at the Discovery Museum, Newcastle, although in the lead up to this event Toon Times wishes to reach out to all Newcastle United fans across the North East and further afield to get involved and share their memories, experiences, photos and memorabilia what people have collected over the years.

We are supporting the project by helping to collect NUFC memories online - fans can share their memories on the Replay Football website, simply select the Toon Times tag when submitting yours.
