My memory is Rangers getting to the UEFA Cup Final back in 2008. What a run that was, beating the likes of Sporting Lisbon and Lyon!
Rangers won 3-0 at Lyon in the Group Stages of the Champions League, but having failed to qualify overall then entered the UEFA Cup, beating Panathinaikos, Werder Bremen, Sporting Lisbon and Fiorentina before losing to Zenit St. Petersburg in the Final
