Having supported Liverpool all my life I've been fortunate to witness some special moments. I've seen the reds lift FA Cups, League Cups and celebrated European triumphs over the years. But the one moment that really cemented my love for LFC came stood on The Kop with just over 12,000 spectators in the whole ground!
It was a league cup 2nd round tie against Fulham that would have been forgotten had it not been for the arrival of an 18 year old wonder kid called Robbie Fowler. Having scored on his debut away at Fulham in the first leg he proceeded to score not a hat trick, not 4 goals but 5 goals in the return game at Anfield.
As I entered into my teenage years and started making more regular trips up to Liverpool from my home in Chorley, Lancs finally my generation had a hero to rank alongside the greats of Ian Rush, Kenny Dalglish, Roger Hunt and the rest. That Xmas was easy for my Mum and Dad to choose me a present. An LFC shirt with Fowler 23 on the back.
