Chris Todd: 2007, Oxford United v. Torquay United

Oxford away on a Tuesday night in October 2007

It is a game that will always stick in my mind, it was a game that we could not afford to lose. We had the worst first half I've ever been involved in, going 3-0 down and it could have been six! We went in at half time and the lads were ripping into each other and there was even a few bottles flying around the changing room.

Well, whatever was said and thrown worked! It was the best turnaround and come back I have ever seen we got back to 3-3 and could even have nicked the win in the end! Welsh, Zebroski and Sills with the all important 3rd ......

Chris started his career at Swansea City where he made 43 league appearances before signing for Exeter City in 2003. After 154 league appearances for Exeter Chris joined Torquay United in 2007, whilst at Torquay he was diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukaemia in November 2008. Amazingly Chris returned to the first team for the final month of the season and was named Man of the Match in the Conference National Play-Off Final as the club gained promotion to Division 2. Chris wrote the book 'More Than Football, In The Blood' about his battle with the disease, with proceeds going to Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research.
