Johnny is a musician and songwriter and was a member of the seminal band The Smiths between 1982-87. He has also been a member of The The, Electronic, Modest Mouse, The Cribs and The Healers.
In 2013 NME awarded Johnny its Godlike Genius award. His debut solo album 'The Messenger' was released to critical acclaim in 2013.
