Marlon made his League debut for Bury whilst on loan from Sheffield Wednesday and joined Burnley in 1992 where he made over 240 appearances in his 7 years at the club, he played in the Burnley side that beat Stockport County 2-1 at Wembley in the Division 2 play-off final. Marlon joined Middlesbrough in 1998 and made his debut on 11th March against Swindon in a 6-0 home win. Marlon has also played for Bradford City, Barnsley and Luton Town.
