Ian Crocker (Sky Sports): A 1982 Cup upset

I grew up in Dorset and my local team Weymouth were a decent non-league outfit at the time but we dreamt of reaching the FA Cup 3rd round and in 1982-83 our dreams came true.

After coming from 1-3 down to beat Maidstone United in an epic 1st round tie "The Terras" were drawn away to Cardiff City in round 2. Coachloads of us made the trip to Ninian Park but we were 2-0 down by half time. Early in the 2nd half Italian window cleaner Anni Iannone pulled one back. He was my favourite player and used to clean my bedroom window. Awesome! We equalised with ten minutes to go and then amazingly Gerry Pearson nabbed a late winner. I can still see that goal now in my head.

And I can still feel the feeling at full time. I've commentated on quite a few games at Ninian Park. You had to climb a rusty ladder to the gantry in full view of the fans and one time I nearly fell off! The fans below weren't up for sympathy (and fair enough!) but hey where were you in '82??!!

We were drawn away to Cambridge United in the 3rd round but alas the train broke down and we missed the first 23 minutes. Bloody British Rail! I've never got over that to this day! And we were rather unlucky to lose 1-0 even if I say so myself.

I've been fortunate enough to commentate on some decent matches over the years but as a 17 year old fan that day in Cardiff will take some beating in terms of great football experiences.
